Else och Holger is a historical music show with music for mixed choir, accompanied by the folk trio Grannar. It was performed for the first time at Glimmingehus castle, where the story also takes place, in July 2009. The show, which is about 60 minutes, can however be performed at any location.
"Else and Holger" tells a story from around the start of the 18th century, about how Else Berete Nicolaidotter, who had served as a maid at Glimmingehus, took the lord of the manor Holger Mogensen Rosencrantz to court to force him to admit that he was the father of her child - and won! The story is based on authentic arcive mateiral dating back to the time, and the music is traditional music written down in southern Sweden around that time. The play was performed first time in 2009. The performance is in Swedish, but even if you can´t follow the plot, you can still enjoy the great music! Grannar is looking for choirs who are interested in performing the music together with us.
